Hi fellows,
I still could not understand why everyone is insisting so much on declaration of a holiday for
tomorrow's bandh. Why can't we do our usual routine work as any other normal working day ? Supposingly it is declared an off, then what CREATIVE you guys are planning or going to do ?
So better carry on doing your work with honesty and sincerety and whosoever want to show the protest, may wear a black band on his/her arm....but in no case we should be a part to stop the pace of our nation....because at the end of day "bandh" will effect every citizen of this country in some or other ve-r-ry bad ways to which we need to understand without being prejudiced.

Bandh will not be useful tool to show of public strength. If we really fed up with present government, please let me know who should be given powers. I believe who ever is in power, will do the same thing for their own interest. If public wants to show their strength, they should show in ELECTION only.

Dear friends,

One thing is very clear, whatever is the reason, every opposition party resort to bandh etc. irrespective of whether it is warranted or not, success or failure. In India there is no bar. Every party use this weapon. The fun is, the ruling party of a state itself support the bandh in their own ruled state when the opposite party rules at the centre.

Coming to the real matter- different companies follow diff. methods to tackle. Those estts. which takes the responsibility of running their own system of pick up and drop doesn't declare holiday. In which case those who are absenting either allowed a special CL or debit to Cl/EL or even mark them absent. Those estts. doesn't undertake pick up & drop normally treat the day as bandh paid holiday. Some estts. also treat this day as holiday work and those who attend are paid holiday wages (extra). Some estt. mark absent for absentees. Generally no leave is accepted on bandh day excepting the prefix &/or suffixing days also applied for leave. To avoid any complications most estts. award compensatory holiday/off duty on any other future day only for those who attends. It's all depends from estt. to estt. there is no act or law which gives mandatory guidelines on bandh days.

I'm interested to know how estts. in West Bengal and Kerala deal this matter, as SC judgment is on cases referring to these states and Bandhs are banned (? really).
