but tell me onething, what is the job security of the HRs in the IR industries in the current scenario.
can you pls reply me certain following things :
1. How to tackle a situation where a subordinate had done mistake and i have to support him / her as a boss of the concerned in front of the Mgmt.?
2. If any employee leaves the organisation stating a lame excuse that HR / policies of the company is not right so quitting the job, what shd be HR reaction for it?

Never Go to Company Which do not follow their company rules only.
If company rules says "Holidays on Saturdays and Sundays". Just do not go on those days at all, Unless there is an emergency (should occur max once in a month).

Let me thank you first for being a regular reader of my topics:
My Opinion In the first Scenario:
If a subordinate is doing a mistake there must be some deficiency from the side of his immediate boss. If a leader gives correct instructions and guides his followers properly then there wdn't be any mistakes. Some times we find rebels wherein in spite of giving fool proof policies and instructions the followers fail to live up to the mark. In the first case definitely the leader should accept his deficiency and try to put the same before the management. In the latter case the subordinate should be given a counseling regarding his/her errors and should represent the case before the Management and assure the management that you would see to it such things would n't repeat and in case the same happens the management should be free to take any action against the subordinate.
My Opinion In The Second Scenario:
No situation is suitable to any one, we should make ourselves suitable to the situation. So if a person is giving lame excuses and leaving the organisation, If the company has got a system of taking Bonds/Contracts from the employees then the person must be sued also if the person is being hired by any other company without a proper relieving order and if you come to know about it you sue the other company too. This is an extreme step to be taken in case a person has joined the Organization and got trained by you and then without contributing anything to the Organization he is quitting you can resort to this step. Otherwise simply don't give the experience or relieving orders to the employee in general cases if you genuinely found out that the person is giving some lame excuses. Think and take decisions in either of the cases as it is the future of that particular employees' too. Finally we should not end up signing off a wrong decision on some one's future.
These are my opinions in the either cases Ali. I ll be very happy if I was successful in giving a correct answer to your queries.

Thanks for the info. Though I would like to chip in with few corrections here n there..
1) Yahoo recently fired 50 employees citing "Non Performance" as a primary reason. This decision was taken after they conducted "RPR- Relative Peer Ranking" within Yahoo. Also they have freezed all their hiring and moreover all the recruitment consultants who were deputed in Yahoo have been sent off.
And with current instability in the market (ie yahoo's stock price), it's definately not on top employer's list at the moment.
2) Aricent: No projects in hand whatsoever. Attrition is all time. Infact the notice period is 2 months over there which can be negotiated to 2 weeks!!
But by and large the info. about other companies mentioned seems to be okay..

I checked the sources cited by you. Again, as some other people mentioned, these are personal blogs of few people and not worth acting upon.
When I run a search query of "Top most firing IT companies in India", first 21 results are from blogs only - no news portal / no research firm source. And now CITEHR.COM is also coming in search results :o
What does it mean - One guy wickedly posted something on his blog and everyone else knowingly or unknowingly engaged in spreading it
To whom it affects : If the news item is not supported by facts / not true (obviously this is the case), then companies shown in bad light would be painted dragon image in minds of newly coming IT professionals. This will hurt those companies without their fault in all this
What we all can do: Let the message be loud and clear on this discussion board that the reader rely at his own risk.

I`ll appreciate that, if some links, not of blogs ofcourse, are pasted.. so as to verify the info..
Almost like 500-600 ppl. would have read this post, but no body ever bothered to find out the bibilography behind this info.
Moreover, IBM is firing all time igh presently.. Coz 10 out of 14 anticipated projects, especially in SAP have been scrapped..
