First you have to learn one thing no one wants to leave the organisation. Who they leave is their boss.

The only person who so much de-motivates the employee, that the employee start searching for a job. when he gets the better job he quit.

Juniors are not going to write we have to get it clear, but printed copies they will provide without signature call that boss in front of his senior and your show them & don't add any thing be quite.

You will see the result very soon.

I need ideas for handling the grievances of people which do not come in written form. There are many complaints regarding behavioral issues of a department head, however, the juniors only complain verbally.
hey swathi
its a good idea to have counselor on board who will be able to handle such grievances and help the employees resolve it at their end. for issues that are beyond the scope of individual employee, the counselor can bring it to the notice of the HR

Dear Swati....
makiing simple to complex is easier ....but making complex to simple is somewhat simple awsomely....and that requires creative skills...
my suggestion for your quiries are ...
a) place a Suggestion Box in all the departments where the complaints arising from the subordinates...and inform to all the Employees to submit their issues and anything related to the growth of the company ...you will definitely get the suggestions(written form)
from the employees those who are facing issues with their higher officials, it may be complaints or what ever...and it is easier for the employees to place their complaints in the written form (for their safer side)....
this is the system is been carried and followed by somany Multinational Concerns...for solving an issue...
i feel it is simple rether than applying the "PE 360 degrees"...IDEAS...
when there is an issue try to solve it in simple manner than going for complex calculations...
Thanks & Best Regards

Dear Swati...
place some suggestion box in that concerned department where the issues are arising ...and inform to that particular employees or any ...to place their sugestions (so that no body knows who is placing the suggestions in that BOX)
it really works ...and you will get the result in few weeks or in some days ...
Believe this will work much better than any other method...
Thanks & Best Regards

Dear
You can have a grievance redressal system by email. The HR head can be the nodal officer for grievances. The appellate authority can be the CEO.

Venkat,

Unfotunately all we feel that union is an obstacle and head-achque but it is an advantage. Only the thing that you should no chess game ie., you should know a bit in advance about their move, then you are a master.

Don't play a foul game of encouraging the other group to form one more union until and unless they work on their own. You will be sand-witched in between, you should be very careful why because over a period of time like our MLAs these people will also jump in to the other group and they will share what happend in their previous group and if both comes to know about your interest then it is going to be a hell for you and there is no other alternative for you except quitting the job.

It is easy for you to negotiate with a team of 5 member instead with all the individual employees. once you complete the long term agreement ie., 3 / 5 years you purchased peace for that period and no negotiations till the end of the term etc etc are the benefits. If you want more info pl. forward your requirement to my ID

The expertise lies by not encouraging the other group to form the second union but help to make themselves feel that a second union must be formed as the present union is not protecting the interest of workmen properly!!!!

you cant take any action on departmental heads with out written form. ask juniors to complaint in written form, if they are feeling inconvinience with their heads. the juniors are looking thier security. if u take any action on departmental heads with out written complaints, your superior ask you only one thing that dont you know the grievience procedure? then what do you? some times all of the sudden, the juniors may change thier words in front your supirior. then what do u say? so just explain to juniors the way to action through grivience procedure. ok.. wish you good luck.

Hi,
As stated by krao1954 unions are good to work with. It leads to mature HR policies. However few individuals on a fine morning cannot get together and announce that they have formed an union. There are compliances like registration, affiliation, recognition, election of works committee etc which are required to be completed. Go through relevant sections of Factory Act. In principle, you cannot stop an union being formed if the employees fulfills the prerequisites. The idea of two or more unions being better than one doesn't appear to be sound. I advise all of you to stay out of union politics. Term of reference should be that all employees are equal whether they are unionised or not.
Take care
