Retrenchment compensation discussed above is over and above the amount payable as Gratuity following the Payment of Gratuity Act. Therefore, for those who qualify for gratuity ( qualify means to be eligible to get it by working for at least 5 years of service) it should also be paid along with retrenchment compensation
