I think that the professional tax rates are revised now.
The new professional tax applicable for Madras Corporation area is as follows.
(Half yearly income) Tax
Upto 20000 nil
Rs. 20001 to Rs. 30000 100
Rs. 30001 to Rs. 5000 235
Rs. 45001 to Rs. 60000 510
Rs. 60001 to Rs. 75000 760
Rs. 75001 & above 1095
The Professional tax Mofussil areas is as follows.
Half yearly income) Tax
Upto 20000 nil
Rs. 20001 to Rs. 30000 94
Rs. 30001 to Rs. 50000 238
Rs. 45001 to Rs. 60000 469
Rs. 60001 to Rs. 75000 706
Rs. 75001 & above 938
