Hi Meenu,
Professional tax is deducted on the Gross salary & belowstated is the slab for the same in Maharashtra -
0 - 2000 = 0,
2001 - 2500 = 30,
2501 - 3500 = 60,
3501 - 5000 = 120,
5001 - 9999 = 175,
10,000 and more = 200.
For the employees who earn more than Rs.10,000/- a month, deduct extra Rs.100/- in the month of February so as to reach the figure of Rs.2500/- which is the figure of PT to be deducted in a year.
