As per company law 1956 its compulsary to maintain the id card register or form no 36 with all the detalis like name,adress, passport size photograph etc...
Its also helps to claim out for w.c. Policy or same accident case...
Its also helps for audit purpose.....
Bt the main thing is that you maintain this ID card reg. or form no 36.
In this ID card reg. covered only onrole emlpoyees details.
For casual employee its just maintain the muster roll or attandance reg.
