Dear Deepmala,
Although I am new and junior, but I feel u r right. the situation is grave. and i even don't understand what ur mgmt means by "giving salary on request basis".i agree with u that employees work in a firm for the need of salary.the operations cannot be carried out properly in any organization if the employees are not getting even salary.........there is little that can be done.if u have joined recently then i suggest that if u can come up with something it's great, but if not, then changing ur job is the only option, since in such a situation the employees don't tend to cooperate much.

Hi,
Do check whether the information which you got from your Management is true. As you are new, I wonder whether you can check with the Top Management. Then what have you joined as-Designation? If you have some people above you in your department and to the period with the company, please do check with them about the real situation.
Again you are new and you might feel many things wrong by just looking it through. Please do analyze it from the Management side & Employee side. Don't straight away go with cost controlling. It might affect the Morale. Being an HR, have patience.
Do check and analyze properly about the things mentioned by you and let us know, so that we can assist you much better.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Deepmala,
I know it is really challenging to be and deal with this kind of situation. What I shall advise is :
See the number of promos, amount of monetary increments, bonuses, rewards given in lats 12 months. Check in detail the extra benefits which can be curbed rather taken off. Take the final amount to the management. However if management is not at all convinced with any strategy or idea you provide, I would strongly recommend you to have eagle eyes on openings in the market for yourself because as per Labour Policy there has to be minumum wages for every work.
All the Best!!
Thanks

Hi Arun,
Realy good suggestion. I am also facing same problem from last 5 mths. But i managed it so softly. In my organisation there is no any kind of disputs for salary matter. Infact now a days my workers come to know what is the problem & they are become to give best quality of products. Everybody is aware about their job responsibilty.

Hi Deeemala,
Its quite typical to see you in this situation in your very first job.
May I suggest you to go and speak with your managagement, that do you any option of working frm home, so that you could reduce your cost in so many other activities(ex: transport, electricity & other virtual costs). And ask your employees to work for 8hrs atleast a day and 6 days a week to perform more effeiciently which would results in maximum output. And freeze the new recruitments.
Risks: *** Data Base Security
*** Less Performance
***Chances of missing SLA(service level agreements)
Support for the above:(May workout)
Keeping Tab on employees for every hour
Weekly Reviews
FYI.. this is not a stress on the employees, infact we are giving biggest oppurtunity to work from home.
You may also take others advise to downsize the employees whose performance is poor.
Note: this is only my view.
Thanks & Regards,
Vinay.

The task/assignment given to you does not fall under the ambit of HRM.
Don't let your management make a fool out of you and other employees.
Just leave such an organization, which is not fit to be called a company - its just managed the legalities of being a company.
A company has no business to exist, if it can not give salary to its employees.
Let it file for bankruptcy.

Congrates that you are facing problems like me in the first job.
My opinion is your company would have deposited the funds of bonus, gratuity, incentives and other welfare reserves in any form. Have a discussion on that, if possible try to liquidate that funds and pay salary. Pl. dont jump from your company. As a HR we should not do so. Assume that you are the owner and suggest your views.

Hi Deepmala,
It is a good experience, atleast for your career. There are 100s of companies in the present scenario, doing the same...
The management is in hope of getting some orders, some are taking the advantage of the existing scenario. I suppose by this time all the cost cutting measures would have been suggested from your line managers and various other consultants to your company. And max would have been already in force. I suppose if they are not paying the salaries, the statutory compusions also would have not been met till date. Still, non payment of salries is a big thing to be really thought of...
If the management is still holding the ground, then they must be in a hope of some silver line ... i am not totally with them...
I understand it is an IT company, the pressure would be defenetly less, thank god that you are not in a manufacturing unit, were there would be physical assaults also.
i suggest as our freinds suggested, have a eagles eye to bail out yourself, and till you are there in the organisation.. be positive and convey the positive messages to whomsoever you interact.. at that time you are the management representative (keep that in mind)
