Employer cannot compel employees to open salary account in its official Bank only. In this case employees were asked to open salary account in IDBI Bank only with zero balance. However, some employees had accounts with other banks. Due to this employer did not pay salary since August 2016. Kerala High Court vide order dated 14.3.2017 (copy attached) asked the employer to pay arrears immediately without insisting for opening accounts with IDBI Bank.
