- XLRI only awards Diploma for even Post Graduate fulltime courses because they are not recognised and funded by the University Grant Commission.

Tata Institute of Social Science recognised by
1. University Grant Commission as Deemed University and funded by the UGC which carry more legitimacy to the education.
2. It has also been recognised by the United Nation.
In 1969 : The first research unit of the Institute, the Unit for Child and Youth Research, is set up with support from the UNICEF.
- TISS award Bachelors and Masters Degree for their cources because they are approved and recognosed by UGC.
