Dear,
In case of organization, each post value has to be converted into monetary value and that monetary value divided by three should be the CTC for the post. Similarly for the employee, if one's output is measured in terms of monetary value, he should have contributed three times his CTC to deserve the same.

Salary consting for new joinee / existing employee may depends on various factors, like
1) Company's financial position
2) Current market growth / Scenario
3) Criticality of the position
4) Result of interview / Rating in interview
5) Current position / Package of the candidate
6) Negotiation skill of Employer / Candidate


although if we have reached the skillset of BILL GATES ....
i hope there are no chances of getting 20 % - 30 % hike in salary....because of recession ...
my suggestion accept whatever u r capable for and dont miss the job because of the salary hike ...somany skilled peopls are curently avaialble in the market who wish to work for lower salaries...
its my experience nowadays ...situation is getting worse , means of hike in salary...
