Husband and wife relationship is based on mutual understanding and belief. Both should realise that nothing will happen due to interaction in the office. Some husbands are jelous on wife and some wifes also viceversa. My wife is working and she interacts with many guys everyday but I never felt something wrong is going on because I know her very well. The same way I also interact with many beutiful girls in the office and my wife never objected or minded as it is a part of our profession. So I suggest that husband to be more broad minded and try to accept the reality in the modern world. A villager may object in such circumstance whereas an educated guy never think so. Best of Luck

Hi,
In most of the organisation Rumours will come automatically. Here husband hereing unwanted gossips from other collegues about her Wife this will be some frastration for both Husband and wife.
In this case Husband has to sit with wife and tell the all gossips which ever comming against her in a straight forward manner and also inform her to reduce the inatraction with the collegues who doing all these issues.
HR Team should be very keen about these typo of issues in the organisation which effect the Organisation culture.
Thanks,

I feel being an HR you should look into this problem faced by this lady employee. This is definetly a sensitive issue of husband and wife relation. The HR should 1st check with the lady what she feels about this issue. It should be communicated to her that she cannot avoid her team as she has to interact with them to get the work done and it's important for her to build the rapport and good relation with them .If she strongly feels about her career she should communicate it to her husband and take a strong stand on this . This cannot be over looked as it a husband-wife issue as it impacts the work and the work environment. HR should speak to this guy about whats been noticed, check with him if he has anything to say and if there is no other problem and just a case of over possesiveness, HR should try to councel him and make it very clear that he should not interfere with his wife's/ fellow employees work as it impacts the work and work environment and it should also be communicated that if this continues you would have to take some concrete steps about this. Ther is no point in over looking such behaviour at office as even this is a type of a misconduct, no harm if we have to loose such kinda guy if the situation demands :) Work is work and you have to keep your personal relations aside when at work and HR has to ensure that these kind of situations are addressed.

Sorry to hear situation like this. Did you had a counseling session with the mentioned lady employee or was that a feedback given by any other counselor?
Just state when did this problem started? How long are they working in the company and was this right from the start of the period or it started recently?
Again the best thing the HR can do is to move the husband by giving a passive promotion where he would not be able to have time to check on to his wife's activities. This is only because you have stated that both are good resources of the company.
Again you shall check with the lady employee, if can that is this problem due because of all male employee or specifically some employees.
If you are a HR, this would be your real task man.... ;) Anyway All the Best! :)[/QUOTE]

In this case, two points have to be kept in mind.
1. Personal
2. Official
In order that their personal lives should not get endangered and both husband and wife are working in the same organisation, the best solution for the HR Department is to re-allocate and give a different department to the wife where there will be less interaction with male colleagues the reason being - since the husband does not want his wife to interact with male colleagues.
In this way, the personal lives will not get endangered and they can continue to work in the same organisation.
One reason, I feel is that husband is feeling inferiority complex.

Thanks for your response.
Well,we had a counselling with her husband too.

Dear Kamal
As Maliniluky suggested try to find the exact problem and Also refer the Policies as most of the companies doesn't allowed Husband and wife in same organisation.
If you able to site the exact problem then try to resolve it. If you fail to resolve it, then try to transfer one of them to another nearby branch.
But its better for there long relationship they should talk frankly on the issue and resolve the problem for there long relationship.
Also observe is there any ego problem involved or a staff is lying to her husband because it can be part of dirty politics.
Hope you will resolve the issue soon.

Dear Mishra,
Thanks for your suggestions.
Well, now management has decided to fire any one of them.
Because of these two, they don't want to loose their best employees.
The Management don't want to discuss any more on their personal life.
So who should be fired?
In this situation what can a Hr do?

Dear Kamal amrohi,
After all the discussion, I would suggest you to advice that female employee to get a counseling done for her husband from a psychologist in private. After you stating that his habit pertains if her wife speaks with any male employee, there is no point of advising him. Rather that would bring a major issue on to their personal life.
Please do stop group communication on to this topic in your office, I am not telling you but if you happened to see a anybody in your office doing so. This would have a real bad impact on to their family life, if that male employee hears that. Hope you understand my words in a positive way..... :)

Again don't let anybody just walk in to that male employee to give a word of advice. It would precisely bother that female employee. I would suggest you to check with your HR team on to what has been stated by Ms. Bindu here in the thread. Hope that's a nice idea...... :)
