Dear Taruna,
I understand that everything covered by you can verify a person's identity but now a days everything is available in duplicate or may be fraud.
There was a website available some time back on the net for fake degrees and the site name was www.fakedegrees.com, now a days it is not more available but this is the only site has come in picture. There can be some more which we are not aware about.
If a person has worked with 3 or more organization, are you doing reference check (background investigation) with all the organization???
There will be cases where people say that the particular industry has been closed down and because of the same he / she changed the job.
Now specially with the smaller industry which is not much known how to cross check that was there any existing industry with such name?
These are some of the question and lot more........

Hi, Can any help me in forming some question which can be ask during, background vertication call ? Urgent help required.
From India, Mumbai
Hi,

For the background investigation,
1) Employer can ask for the photocopy or original documents of recent degree certificates for the education check and contact the universities or colleges to verify
2) Employer can process drug test/health check
3) Employer can do the criminal background check via third party companies
4) Reference check: they can contact the employers or hiring/reporting managers to verify about his employment, duration, names, rehire eligibility...

Just curiosity,
Are these legal to ask the candidate or needed?
1. Not many people maintain employment documents such as relieving letter, payslip, PAN, Form.16, experience letter. When you contact the employers directly why would you need all these documents?
2. Normally employee has to surrender all the company assets when he/she leaves the company including ID.
3. Why do we need candidate's family details for the employment reasons?

I really appreciate everyone who could answer me for the above questions.

Sincerely,
Jambu Sreenivasan
