Dear Ali,
You need to do this short self assessment:
1. Why are you not satisfied with your job?
2. What were your expectations before you joined the Company?
3. What are you actually doing now in your Department?
4. What else are you currently doing which you did not expect to do?
5. Why are you not able to discuss the problem with your boss?
6 Will your boss not be happy with you after discussing the problem with him/her?
7. Which of the HR Theories you learnt at the MBA can help you in your current situation?
Try to answer all the questions posed above and things will work better for you.
Regards.

Dear Ali,

You says you are not satisfied, there is no learning environment, You are just posing as you are satisfied, so trust me, the answer is like that:

1. In 99.9% companies and specially in HR people feels same unless they accept the realities of true world and that's, HR means just an Administration/Salary/Time Office/Typing & Drafting couple of letters, at least when you are at lower levels. So there is nothing wrong with your Job as you have opted for this field and no one had forced you. If there was any mistake that was due to your lack of information about the Job Profile of HR.

2. Lack of learning Environment: No I disagree from you, learning is an auto process and any one can learn if he wish to, there are lot of things you can learn, you can make yourself expert in ESI/PF rules and regulations, You can learn about the Labor laws and latest developments in this field, you can learn in new type of incentives and staff promotions developments, you can learn about various type of training's given to employees in various Industries to improve the productivity at different levels, there is no dearth of learning and you have to do all this at your initiative and try to convince your seniors to let you implements those ideas in your Company. By doing so you will feel better job satisfaction. So don't think Company will teach you any thing as they have appointed you by assuming that you know every thing in your field and you will fully take care of their needs.

3. You say you are posing like a satisfied person. I feel you have achieved some thing at least as just loosing patience over trivial matters and that too without knowing your own weakness and shortcomings is of no use, a person feels unsatisfied when he is unfit in that situation and dear it takes time to adjust in any specific environment. The biggest reason for feeling unsatisfied is you are fresh from college with having lots of information and knowledge of various HR theories and conditions written in those books and most of them by the people from abroad or from the Companies which are too big and have totally different atmosphere. One thing is sure you can't implement most of those theories in our small medium companies.

So Dear just consider following:

1.If you are satisfied with the salary and perks.

2.Your Boss is satisfied with your performance.

If answer to both of these questions are Yes.Rest sure with passage of time and effort you will find lots of things to learn and experiment and am sure after some time you wont have to pose any thing as really you will be satisfied with your Job etc.

With best wishes.

Dear Ali,
I would suggest you that you discuss with your boss about this and tell him that you would like to work in other areas of HR .Only time office functions wont hlep you to learn at this crucial learning/training stage in your career.Pls tell him that in addition to time office he give you an opportunity to work in other areas of HR as well.
If he does not agree to it then the last resort would be to change the job.

Sumeet
