Hello Radhika,

The cost of campus recruitment can be brought down once the cost of recruitment can be broken down into smaller pieces and each one of them can be analyzed individually. In my opinion, following add to the cost of freshers recruitment:

1. Cost of acquisition : It is the time and energy spent by the HR in finding out which are the best colleges from where talent can be acquired.

2. Travel cost: The cost of traveling to the destinations where the colleges/institutes are present from which candidates are to be sourced.

3. Assessment Cost : This is the cost of applying an effective filter to the available pool. Remember, it is not only the test that you conduct to find the suitable candidates but also consider the cost if the filter is non effective. It can be non-effective if the questions have reached the candidates before the test. In this case the effectiveness of the filter is lost and you may end up getting not-so-good candidates. You should also look at the hit rate (# of candidates selected / total # of candidates assessed)

4. Cost of acquisition : This includes tests (internal or external), technical assessment, GD/PI if required and an HR interview.

5. Cost of retention: What is the benefit if you find the best candidates but are not able to retain them ? These candidates will increase your total cost by making you search for more candidates.

We, at Employdex (EmployDEX Consulting - Effective Fresh Graduate Recruitment program for IT organizations) specialize in freshers recrutiment, wherein we perform all the assessments and the ranked list of candidates is made available to organizations. We do not offer it for free but our rates are definitely competitive.

Best regards,

Alok
