Dear Seniors,
With respect to this notification from PF office, one query is raised by our external auditor.
If employee's basic salary is more than 15000/- and he is fresh PF member then is it compulsory to make him EPS member and allocate his funds to PF and EPS.
Suppose employee's basic salary is more than 15000/- at the time of becoming PF member and we restricted his contribution upto 15000/-, then in such a case, we need to pay EPS also.
External auditor is saying that since we have restricted PF contribution to Rs.15000, we need to pay for his pension also.
Please advise for the above mentioned query.
Thanks,
Santosh

Dear Neena ,
but amount of EPF approx Rs.1.00 not not transferred to my new co-I presume you are referring to EPS Contributions reflected in your Pass Book.Consequent to transfer pf PF Accumulations, EPS Service details will also be transferred to respective PF Office. The contribution mentioned therein will have no relevance in determining your Pension eligibility.
Since you have complete more than 15 Years membership, you are not eligible for withdrawal of EPS Accumulations. But you are eligible for EPS after completion of 58/50 Years.Since you are presently Employed & covered under EPS, the question of availing Pension does not arise.
