M/s. Rachna Mehra,
While Diwali can be taken as an opportunity for having fun or celebration. I believe the main reason behind all these efforts will be creating a bonding between employees.
Yes as mentioned by our members you can organize some fun competition like rangoli, diya making, darts game; I would rather suggest if possible make an attempt to create moments to treasure. You can ask employees to decorate their cubicle and then invite the families of employees to visit the office so family gets familiar with each other and get to know the place of working. Organize some light refreshment this will really create family bonding between employees.
It also depends on the kind of business your company is involved with and accordingly involve customers and suppliers for better relationship. If your employees are interested in volunteering, can organize visit to old age or orphanage or get them visit your office. As said happiness increases with sharing.
While there are lot of corporate gifts, discount vouchers are available like electronic Diya, calendar, compact pen stand with company name imbibed in it, you can create a special moment for employees by having a book like photo frame where employees can add their favorite photo on the left while on the right side Diwali message from your owner and his digital signature or since team is small can have group photo.
All employees will have different requirement, if you can provide what most employees expect it will add to their Diwali happiness.
Diwali Wishes & All the Best for your efforts...

Thank you so much Mr. Shivraj S.... for your valuable time & efforts, as I mentioned on my status my company is not as spacious so can't arrange rangoli kind of competition or can't arrange co-worker's family get together. Want some short games or team activity games in where we may distribute some prizes. Getting confused because on my current job arranging these kind of activities 1st tme & my boss is having some expectations from me into employee engagment activities. Want to prove myself best infront of my co-workers & boss. Even want to know about contents for Diwali speech i.e How to start the celebration?/ Which kind of contents I should say while starting the diwali celebration???
Plz help some suggestions with details.

M/s. Rachna Mehra,
While I can understand from your post that your office is not very spacious but in order to suggest some games, we need to understand design of your office, age group of employees working (considering it is around 23 employees) and interest of employees. You can have brainstorming / suggestion box among employees itself to know their interest level. Check with your owner if he has any plan or things to consider. how event was organized previous years.
Decorated Cubicle / wall
If it is cubicle style cabin then can have cubicle decoration competition or if it open style with just tables and chairs may be you can pile them at one corner to increase space and decorate a wall. It can be team based competition.
Best Costume
You can also ask employees to dress traditionally and have best costume competition.
Diya making / Greeting card
Each of your employees can also bring along a decorated diya lamp and have competition based on it (or get it decorated from home) and later all can be kept in design and lightened together.
Stage Talent
If you all have at least stage limited space and have creative people then can have skit competition, dancing or singing (korokke)
Potluck
If employees are good with cooking then can go for potluck where each employee can bring 1 dish and all can share or have competition on best dish.
Tail the cat
Take a print out of cat and have tail separately printed, paste the cat picture on the wall and make a team where 1 employee is blind folded and other guides the employee to place tail in exact position. This is more of team building exercise.
Celebration program
Check with your owner if it is whole day program and if he will be coming early. Check his schedule and accordingly have an agenda on flow of events. You along with interested colleagues can decorate the entrance and office (if possible) that will give feel good factor. If your staff is senior and if you intend to have decorated office along with potluck then can have office tour where they can check the decoration and items followed by a formal session with small introduction on significance of Diwali, owner addressing the employees, giving his wishes. Cake cutting can be arranged. If any of the senior members wish to share their thoughts and end the formal session with thank you note for all assisting you. Then you can have informal session with cultural activity or competition. If formal session goes long can break for lunch and then rejoin with competition and other activities. If any of your colleagues is good in MC then can give him the opportunity and you can oversee the entire program else yourself can be the MC.
Hope this gives sufficient points to take things ahead. If you need more detailed suggestion, feel free to drop me a mail on below mentioned email id.
