Hi Everybody,
I completed my Pgdm - HR in 2010 since than I am not having any practical experience in HR and its functions. with five years of experience in Visa Consulting field I am looking forward to switch my professional career with LLB (laws other than Crime Laws). I am currently 29 yrs old.
How worthy it will be to completed this study and oppurtunity for working as a Legal officer or Legal Executive in any corporate?
And what are the challenges that I have to face? Is age any bar?
Or suggest any better option..

Dear Sir,
I would advice you to stick in HR field and to search some jobs related to HR. Visa Councling is somehow like customer service and back office documentation. Its not related to HR but you can say it as a part of HR like screening documents, understanding your client etc etc.
But, you just be in the same jobs and try to find jobs in HR.
Law is totally a diff.field of study where have no similarities with HR & its a time consuming course and need lot of practice to become a good lawyer . Yes, if you are CS, then law field seems good.

Your are young, and age is not barrier in any profession. You can study pros and cons of each profession, the most important is your likes and dislikes of the profession. Both HR and Legal are interesting profession.
Since you have already done PGDM-HR, it would be easy for you to join at jr. level in HR as entry and then grow. For career in legal you need to complete LLB and then some practice and deep study is required. You will be on-track after 3 years.
In HR you can start career immediately, yes LLB will be added advantage in HR also like study of Labour Law.
Based on your personal satisfaction and liking you choose career. You will get many advises but your interest matters a lot in your career.

I go with Brainl Light HR Solutions. Age is no bar. You can either study 3-year LLB course with Labour Laws as major since it is relevant to HR or go for diploma course in labour laws offered by Mumbai University (please enquire) or by a Parel based Institute of Labour studies. There is ample scope with HR coupled with legal qualification since industrial relations and statutory compliances are much sought after now, if you have an aptitude for it .

With regard to the rest of your questions, it's a pity you are in a wrong field with reference to your qualifications. Changing is not going to be easy. First obstacle is people will not give you opportunity since your experiance is elsewhere. Second, in case you do get an offer, you will be competing with younger people and will be paid less as compared to your age, may even be less than what you are currently drawing.

If you are planning to study law, that may be a good idea as you will have a reason to change your field after that. However, mumbai university no longer allows students beyond a certain age. You may need to change your location in that case.

Again, llb is a 3 year course and you will be 32 when you qualify and will be competing for jobs with the 24 year olds.

However, if you are convinced that you need to change your field of work, then move on to something new, sacrifice some things in the interim period (money being one of them) for a better future
