ESI is applicable in case if your employee strength is 10 or more. In common your company needs to have the following -
- Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Copy of Strength of Employees
- Copies of Attendance/wage register for the month, in which 10 or more were/are employed for wages.
- Copy of Pan Application
- Copy of Registration Certificate under The delhi shops and establishments act 1954
- Licence under Contract (Registration & Abolition) Act.,
- Rent/Lease deed ownership ownership documents/tax paid receipt, as the case may be.
- Bank Account Details
- EPF Code No. if any
- Name and Address of clients to whom services are rendered with copies of their acceptance letters. Are they separately covered under ESI, if so, code number to be furnished.
Get your documents ready and go to the regional ESIC office for submission and process.

Since your establishment comes with the purview of "Shops", the critical size of employees that you need to have on your rolls is 20.Tough you can opt for the said registration voluntarily at any point of time and with lesser head counts of employees employed for wages.

Just a small update that,since Anshul's establishment may be categorized as "shop" since in a distributorship there happens to be no "Manufacturing Process" as defined in the ESIC Act,the applicable employee strength shall be 20.10 headcounts is applicable wherein some "manufacturing process" is carried on.

The provisions under section1 (5) of the Delhi shops and Establishment Act as long as the establishment employs a minimum of twenty persons/ 10 persons from the date fixed in revised notification, it will be stand covered.
