I had resign on 8 th jan 2022 from my current company. I told them that I will join the competition company. After that, they have checked my laptop from IT team. Now they are saying on 3rd jan2022. You have access to the common documents portal of the company. I have handed over my system also on 11th jan22. On mail, I have sent them reminder but I am not getting a reply. Is it possible they can terminate me?

You have written that you had accessed the common documents portal of the company. Has accessing the portal been defined as misconduct in the standing orders of your company? Were you authorised to access the portal? After accessing the documents, what did you do? Did you make unauthorised transmission of it?

It is basically common portal for products knowledge. even dealer also is having the access . Yes I was authorized. Actually I have seen 10 products in the portal. But didn't transfer any documents.but they are saying why you have accessed so many products before resignation.

Why would you be worried of termination just because you have accessed a common document portal that is open to all. There is some other information that you have not shared with us.

There should be a basis for termination, right?
Or a reason why you think you will be terminated.

In any case, you should keep the HR of the new company informed of the same
