Hi, My name is Rahul and I left my company next day after resignation, then they called me to submit the laptop and I submitted. Now after a month they send me a courier that I need to pay two months salary as mentioned in the confirmation letter otherwise they will take legal action against me.
I told them that i can come to the company and serve the notice period given but they are asking only for the money. What should I do now?

Dear Rahul,
Leaving the organisation immediately after the submission of the letter of resignation is an abandonment of the employment. But then you could have been little thoughtful while doing so. You cannot leave or join the organisation at your whims. You could have thought of the conditions of your employment mentioned in the letter of appointment. It was incumbent on you to fulfil those conditions.
Anyway, at this stage, the only solution left is to go back and approach your old employers to sort the matter. There is no other remedy left for you.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
