Hello, please help me. I have to give a spot resignation due to the sudden declaration of exams conducted in written mode, not online. I needed time for preparation; hence, I did not serve the notice period but wrote a spot resignation describing the reason. The company is forcibly stating that I will be marked as absconding. They falsely claim it is mentioned in the appointment letter as 'Failure to complete notice period or buying out the notice period by the employee and spot resigning is considered as abscond.' However, something like this is not written in the appointment letter given to me. They simply explained the procedure to discontinue working.
So, tell me, if an employee gives a spot resignation and days before giving it, I completed my shift hours without any absent days, is it right for them to mark me as 'abscond'? The meaning of abscond is when an employee does not report to work for consecutive days without informing managers and peers about their whereabouts or the reason for their absence. I can't figure out how they are labeling me as 'abscond' after understanding the meaning.

You have a genuine cause. Appearing for an examination is necessary or a must. Can you provide some highlights about your employment, company (if possible or otherwise in which industry), your position, and what exams you are appearing for, etc., so that we shall be glad to advise you suitably.

So just because your college had declared the dates for the exam, you plan to leave without serving notice. I notice you have not asked for leave to study but given 'spot resignation'.
Well, your company requires a 30-day notice. Therefore, if you don't complete the notice period, they are very much within their rights to mark you as absconding. I don't find anything wrong with that.
And frankly, your 'reason' sounds fake.
