I have recently selected for a MNC company and they need my graduation certificate to be uploaded for background verification but I'm still awaiting for my graduation certificate to be issued as it is a delay from university end. I have my authorised college letter stating that I have completed my graduation and it was mentioned that I need to wait for 2 more weeks for my certificate to be issued. But my date of joining is in one week only. so please suggest me how to approach the HR for permission to give time to submit my documents.

Tardiness by the Indian universities in the issue of degree certificate is well known. Against this backdrop, you could have obtained Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) from your university. Secondly, have you deposited your mark-list of the degree certificate?
In case if there inordinate delay in the issue of the degree certificate then you may keep infored your company about your eforts in acquiring it.
