Dear,
Policies are set of guidelines and actions which company set to streamline processes for improvement of overall performance of the organisation.
You may formulate policies for anything for smoothing functioning based on the business type of your organisation. Policy can be formulated related to HR, Finance,Marketing, Sales or any other department.
So don't go with the standard practice what others are doing. You find your business need as per your mission & vision, then decide which policies would be required.
I appreciate reply given by my friends above.
For any further clarification, you may please write to me.
