Hello all and thanks in advance.
Here, where I am working currently, they have not bifurcated the leaves under different heads like CL,SL and PL. We give the specific amount of leaves to every employees and they need to avail these leaves in a year and 10 can be carry forward and remaining would be lapse.
Is this the correct policy to follow?

Hi,
The nature of your employer has not been given. However, various legislations such as Factories Act, Shops & Establishment Act, etc. have prescribed certain number of annual leave to be granted to the employees. The Establishment may determine the number of days of leave based on the understanding between the employer and employees (either informal or through their Unions) and divide the number of days into various types of leave like medical/sick, privilege, etc. subject to minimum number prescribed under the relevant Act.
You may go through the relevant Act application to your establishment and decide whether the employer is complying with atleast the minimum number of days of leave.

Hi, thank you very much for your consideration.
Moreover, It is an IT firm and I do aware about this bifurcation policy like how SL, CL ot PL/EL would be activated in an employee account but my concern here is; here in this firm they have not bifurcated the leaves accordingly so can I keep continue with the same policy or do I need to change it?
However, here employer and employee both are satisfied with the current leave policy what I have mentioned in my first threat.

Dear friend,
When you have a policy for leave, whatever may be the quantum, and both the parties are satisfied with it, why do you want to tinker with it??? Use the energy for some innovation which will help improve labour efficiency, productivity, profitability, which will raise your face value.
Best of luck.
