What is the necessisity of the employee to sign the pay slip, the pay slip is meant for the employee and he can keep are discard the pay slip but the pay slip is issued to the employer duly signed by an authorized signatory hence on pay slip the employer's auhtorized signatuory is mandatory not the employee's.

yes it is necessary for the employees to sign the payslip for your proof that you have issued them. You can make the payslip with the carbon copy attached give them the copy and keep the original with you for audit and documentation purpose.

As a proof of salary an employee needs to have any of the following:
1) Salary Slip - with office seal and signature by the representative from payroll department
2) System generated pay slips - these pay slips does not require any signatures/stamp
3) Bank Statement
4) Form 16
Any of these four is OK.
