what is your company's line of business and secondly manpower strength/ turnover....
appointment letters are same, you can just add/ modify a few points depending on work conditions.
over time is double the normal wages. rule is max 50 hrs in a quarter ie 3 months...
I am a compliance manager myself, the reality is HR policies/ sysem depends on the owner/ promoters of the company so my advice is first study the existing system, then suggest improvement along with financial/ legal implications to the owner..
try n follow labour laws to the maximum.

normally it is double the hourly wage rate.
however in certain companies, people may pay on a per piece productivity too. sometimes what happens is that workers in connivance with the immediate supervisor dont do much work during day time. when evening comes, due to buyer deadlines, the management is forced to go in for overtime. anotehr situation is suprvisor gets a commission from workers ie he says work is complex or tough so that extra work hours are done regularly.
another trend is same worker is on peice rate in day time and daily wages in evening.
In your company, analyse the overtime schedules over the last 1-2 years. if its a regular feauture, it makes more sense to have a second shift.
secondly have 30% variable pay in production.
keep me updated,
