Dear Anuradha,
Employee has to first fill the leave application either in soft or in hard copy format, take sanction from his TL & PM and then submit to HR for final approval.
Though leaves reflects in their timesheet but these leaves are not approved leaves as employee had not taken any sanction from anybody.

Dear Anuradha,
Leave approval process
1. Application for leave will be filed by the employee
2. The leave application will be sent to the employee’s reporting manager
3. Reporting manger may or may not approve the leave, depending upon the work situation. If approved the application must be sent to HR department
4. HR will verify the leave eligible days. If leave balance is unavailable the employee will be advised accordingly
5. Leave application will be forwarded to General Manager for the approval
6. Approval will be then intimated to employee

Dear Anuradha,
There are various types of leave. They are PL,SL,CL & nos. may vary from company to company. But procedure for PL & SL IS:
1) First fill up the Leave Application form with the approval of the HOD.
2) Then check the leave balance. If leave are balance then give approval & if not then tell him that leave will be consider without pay.
3) SL does not want leave application form. Telephonic conversation may considered.
