Dear All
Can anyone let me know how to calculate the Accident Free Man Days?
If any Fatal or Reportable accident occurs, how it should be considered?
Say an example of this year upto July 31st...
Jan = 31 Days
Feb = 28 Days
Mar = 31 Days
Apr = 30 Days
May = 31 Days
June = 30 Days
July = 31 Days
If no accident happens the Accident Free Mandays for the Period of Jan - July 2011 will be 212 Days...
If an fatal accident or reportable accident happens on 31st July then the the Accident Free Mandays for the Period of Jan - July 2011 will be 211 Days or Not...
Then can we start count the next period from 1st August or not?
Hope my question is clear... Looking forward to get clarrification to my query...
Thanks in advance...

Dear dipil, For example fatality or Reportable accident happened on July 31st you suppose to lose 212 days. your counting will start again on August 1st with 1 day . . . hope you will clear. . .

Dear Dipil,
Accident Freeman-days = (Man days Worked for the month/No. of calender day for month)x No. of accident free calender days of current month.
and finaly cumulate the data from each months summery.
Please gothrough the attached xls file. I hope this information may clear your query.

Hi Dipil,
What i understand from your quary is you are looking forward to know the Accident Free Man-Days.What i believe accident is not only limited to Fatality or reportable incidents,its includes First Aid Cases,Medical Treatment Cases and Restricted work cases as well.
Not sure whether i am correct or not the best term you can use here is cumulative days without LTI or Fatality.
Thnaks,
Sam

Dear Dipil and Vineet,

Your Query:

If no accident happens the Accident Free Mandays for the Period of Jan - July 2011 will be 212 Days...

If an fatal accident or reportable accident happens on 31st July then the the Accident Free Mandays for the Period of Jan - July 2011 will be 211 Days or Not...

Your Query:

If no accident happens the Accident Free Man-days for the Period of Jan - July 2011 will be 212 Days...

If an fatal accident or reportable accident happens on 31st July then the the Accident Free Man-days for the Period of Jan - July 2011 will be 211 Days or Not...

My Justification:

211 days is the Accident free calendar days not Man-days.

To get the accident free man-days you have to work out with total man-days.

For example:-

To compute July month’s accident summery at the end of July

Assume an accident took place on 23rd of July month

Then the Accident free calendar days are 22 days.

We know July month has 31 calendar days.

Assume your man power is 500 Nos.

Then

Total Man-day worked = 31/7*5*500 = 11071

(31/7*5 means 40hrs per a week (or) 5 days a week; you can write actual also)

Accident Free man-days = [Total Man-day worked (11071)/ Calendar days for the Month (31)]*Accident free calendar days(22)

i.e. 7856.8 accident free man-days for the month of July in your organization.

Hope this explanation may clarify your doubt and serve the purpose.
