Dear friends,

I am working in an EPC company in Mumbai as a Safety Officer for the last three months. During the joining process, my boss offered me a salary of Rs. 12,000 and mentioned that this is the maximum pay for a safety officer. I have 2 years of experience in the oil and construction fields with a strong engineering background.

My concern is that the other safety officers who joined after me are receiving higher pay, around Rs. 20,000, despite being less experienced and lacking proper academic qualifications. In light of this situation, I am seeking an increment in my salary. Therefore, I kindly request a letter supporting my request for a salary increase.

Thank you.

This is a common problem when an employee faces it. Experienced persons receive less salary, while fresher employees receive more. You need to discuss your salary hike with your HR. It depends on how you handle the situation. All the best.

Without naming the names, put on record all the facts about two to three comparable cases where, in the year of passing, educational qualifications, and experience are compared. This may help you put forward your case in a positive way. Address the application to HR and route it through your HoD. All the best.

i don’t think you can do much but only request for higher salary. If the company does not pay heed to your request you can do nothing about it; only change job.
