Sorry to hear about the mishap. However, as a precautionary measure would like to know, which type of fire extinguisher was being used. (whether Soda acid/Foam type/ dry chemical type)

I know at least 3 such cases when during training the trainer met with accident because of the extinguisher

Use ABC & CO2 type fire extinguisher. In case if is not working i.e. non opertable then do not try open the same, it could be dangerous. Leave that extinguisher and send it for refilling.

I would also like to know what Type of Fire Extinguisher was being used.
We use ABC Type where there is no need to pull any Pin. We just press the Lever.
About the Organ Donation, the magnanimity of the Father is commendable.
