Hello All,
I have completed my M.Sc Psychology(Apr-2007) with specialization in HR and presently working in a start up IT company with less than 15 employees. Since I am fresher with no experience in basic functions I am stuck up by doing the basic administration work here. At times there are not much work and hence made to play the role of business analyst in my company.
Thus I am looking up for an entry into an Organization where I can learn right from the basic functions of an HR.
Hence, Can anyone help me in describing the skills and qualities that are expected from a fresh HR Executive like me by the bigger Organizations?
and the necessary Labour Law that I should equip myself with?

The very basic qualities expected from a fresher is his/he potential to do justice with the scheduled role , ability to add value to the organizaton and knowledge.

You have completed your Masters in Psycholog) with HR as spcialization , it means that you do have the required knowledge about the field.

It is true that a company with 15 employees can't have intense actitvies to keep an HR Executive Busy.

But isn't it an opportunity to create something unique for your organization and at the same time impart skills and knowledge to yourself?

I hope that the company you work with ll soon enter in an expansion phase,at that time role of HR executive/manager.. l;l be crucial from designing the recruitment procedure to salary fixation to induction and so on..

are you equipping yopurself for that phase OR are you sure that you don't want to work with such a small firm as they have only 15 employees and not much HR functins?

(however this should have been a thought before joining the organizaton. If you were not ready for it some other worthy candidate could have joined that firm.)

Moreover leaving an organization in such a manner won't look very good on your CV.
