HELLO,
I HAVE JUST COMPLETED MY 1ST YEAR OF MBA AND HAVE PROCEEDED FOR SUMMER TRAINING IN A PUBLIC SECTOR OIL COMPANY.
MY PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE BEEN SUGGESTED BY MY GUIDE TO DO A PROJECT ON "EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION" BUT I FEEL THAT THIS TOPIC IS TOO EASY FOR OUR LEVEL . HOWEVER, HE SAYS THAT IT IS IMPORTANT AS NOT MUCH RESERCH HAS BEEN DONE BY STUDENTS ON THIS TOPIC AND IS WORTH UNERTAKING.
SHOULD I AGREE WITH HIM OR CONVINCE HIM FOR SOME OTHER CHALLENGING TOPIC?
INCASE THE TOPIC I CHOOSE IS EASY , WILL IT AFFECT MY FUTURE CAREER PROSPECTS?

Hello,
Definitely it's a very easy topic as u have mentioned but it is also correct that not much have been done on this topic and don't worry if u really want to add some on it, u can add topics like Job Analysis b'coz this is very much related to ur project and in future it will give u some new insights.
Thanks & Regards

I don't think Job satisfaction is a very easy topic
as jobsatisfaction links with many factors it is a wide topic
it may be easy because u may get lots of litarature & old projcts
but if projrct done genuinully it is a great topic
now a days many public sector companies are spending in crores and engaging many consultants for find the level of job satisfaction in employees

Hi,
You can always use statistical analysis to co-relate your findings and conclusion.
Choose your questionnaires in an appropriate manner. Analyse how you can interpret the anwers. When you interview the employees observe and analyse the answers carefully.
Please mail me if you have any other queries.

All the Best.
Regards,
Laksh

Hello Neena, The project, contradictory to what you presume, is a complicated one. It could be challenging to take up such an assignment. However, choose this task only if you are doing your work in an organisation with adequate number of employees; You should have access to the employees for obtaining required data.
Further, be careful in deciding the referral factors to measure job satisfaction; your questionnaire should be designed with linkages to the chosen factors.
best wishes
