Dear Seniors,
I have worked for a Company for Last 01 years, now i got a chance to join a large company, but they are not giving me time (Notice period), as our notice period is for 02 months. They want me to join within 10 days.
As it is a large Company, i don't want to miss the opportunity. Should i do certain things:
# Go for leave for 01 month
or I have to resign at the last moment?
I know they will not pay the salary for the current month. Kindly advise.
Best Regards,
Prashanth

Hi Prashanth :
Firstly please resign and request for release (specify the date). As per policy if the company insists you to serve 2 months notice, then you need to settle the notice period amount inorder to get early release.

Dear Prashanth,
Let me pose you a question. Suppose the company finds a better person than you for the job, should they tell you to go now or wait till the other person joins and then fire you?
It's all a question on ones conscience. Do you consider that going on leave or resigning at the last moment ethical? Just a few minutes ago we were watching PUNYA KOTI song, in Kannada at ಕನ್ನಡ kannada ಪುಣ್ಯಕೋಟಿ ಗೋವಿನ ಹಾಡು puNyakOTi gOvina hADu - YouTube
The gist of the song is the TRUTH is our parent, friends and relations and if we do not follow it the Lord will not pardon us. I know most of our politicians do not believe in that. That does not mean we should not. In the final analysis, can we sleep peacefully after telling lies.

You are to resign from your present organisation by submitting a notice as per the termination clause contained in the contract. If there is a stipulation to pay in liue of notice, then you can leave immediately by complying with the same.Otherwise ,you are to appeal to them for early release. However,it is fully their discretion and they may or may not accept the same.

You need to submit the notice period of 2 months and it can be submitted in terms of 2 months salary so resign and request to relieve with in the time. If you go on leave of one month it will not be good and company will not relieve at that moment and they can also communicate the same to your future company.

I agree with Mr. Nashbramhall. It was always blamed that employer are selfish. But now a days employees are so selfish. I don’t find any morality in employees of today.

Dear Prashanth,
The above comments are very valuable for you, and for sure you can try each way but first of all go for a positive resignation letter and thanking from your boss and company for what they have done for you and then explain your leaving reason, however if you can manage a good mode with your line manage and HR for sure they can support you to leave in a smooth way,

Going on leave and joining somewhere else is not only unethical it might also get you into trouble. Under most employment contracts, you cannot have two concurrent employments.

Well,
You can discuss with the HR of the company you have got an offer and frankly told them your situation as you can join their company in 10 days only if you get relieved from your present company in the specified period.
Being an professional HR they should understand your situation and if they really preferred you on others and need you to join in 10 days they will pay for the salary in lieu of the notice period to get you hired. As some good companies are doing in that way.
Do not be confused and be confident by clarifying everything before coming to conclusion.

HI,
I can suggest you one thing resign give a officially letter to them that you wont be coming from 10 august tell them to arrange a replacement of yours so that you can handover the things so work wont suffer. If you serve notice your new company wont wait so i suggest you that if you have earned leave you can surrender then in lieu of 1 month salary.
