Hello, Seniors, I have joined a company as HR manager. Please let me know who is the authorized person to sign in offer letter Directors or HR Manager. My management has asked me to sign in the Offer & appointment letters. Can I do that? Is there any Authorization Letter required for doing the same and if so please help me with the format.
Thanks

Dear it depends on your company policies , if your company says so you can sign, and company policies differ from company to company..... there is no universal rule that HR manager can sign or not sign ;( ;)

Hi
I too had a similar situation a month back when I joined my current organisation. What I did, considering that I am the only HR manager here, I insisted that the Director sign my appointment letter.
You can also get a letter signed from the Director to say that you are given full authority to sign any documents relating to the HR department if you want.

Also you can refer to delegation of powers or best have double signatory on offer letters or any appointment letters both you and director should sign that is best way

Dear Sangeetha,
Your doubt is correct. The authorization letter is must for the future problems. The management should give a authorization letter to you to sign in offer and appointment letter. If any cases raise this will help you in future.

you need to get the "power of attorney" from the management or the principal employer for the same and a copy of that is to be submitted to the labor officer as well.

Dear Sangeeta,
Every company has mangement guidelines in the format of "Schedule of Power" (SOP). As per this SOP, managment assign power to its executives.
In your case obtain a copy of SOP of organization. Check and see whether HR manager is authorized signatory for offer letters. If not then see who is the Authorized signatory and ask for Power of Attorney.
In this power of Attroney leeter it will mention that HR manager will be authorized to sign on offer letters on behalf of Authorized person as mentioned in SOP. This letter will signed by Authorized person, Yourself (for Accepting) and HR Head. It will be helpful in your audit also.
I hope this clears your doubt.
Thanks & Regards,
Anupam Anurag.
