DEAR RAM,
YOU HAVE TO PAY, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, AND IT IS BETTER TO PAY ALSO.
Contribution period and Benefit period:-
Contribution period is (a) 1st April to 30th September (first half) & (b) 1st October till 31st March.
The corresponding benefit period is (a) following 1st July to 31st December (b) following 1st January to 30th June.
Thus, ‘Benefit period’ starts three months after the ‘contribution period’ are over.
The relevance of this definition is that sickness benefit and maternity benefit is available only during ‘benefit period’.
Thus and employee gets these benefits only after 9 months after joining employment and paying contribution. However, other benefits are available during contribution period also.
An employee is entitled to get benefits which are medical benefits as well as cash benefits. He also can get disablement benefit.
All the best

If I am not wrong the employees who are drawing Rs.15000/- is also covered ESI & if he crosses Rs.15000/- only shall be out of ESI. As mentioned by our other friends any employee is out of ESI wage limit in between the contribution period his covereage & deduction of contribution should be till the end of contribution period but incase of coverage it should be with immediate effect.

Dear Friends
If an employees under the purview of ESI during April and subsequent due to wage revision or for other reasons, the wage crosses Rs. 15000/-, he shall continue to be under ESI til end of contribution period i.e., September.
Our other friends have given excellent examples.

Dear Sir's
I have one confusion regarding the same, suppose if the employee salary increase from 15000 to 18000 in April month then we need to contribute the ESI amt upto sept. but we will calculate on 15000 or 18000.

Dear Mr Abhishek
The point is very clear.
There are two contribution period. April to Sept and October to March.
If the salary increases from 15000 to 18000 w.e.f. 1st April or 1st October, the employees will come out of the purview of ESI.
In case employee's salary increases w.e.f. May onwards, he shall continue to be under ESI only.
Hope your querry is cleared.
