Campus placements are one of the most aggressive modes of sourcing in the modern era. May be recession has taken a toll on other modes of recruitment and campus placements had its own share of pitfalls, but off late it has picked up and major companies are back into the campuses.
Chennai is a major hunting ground for corporate to hire freshers in bulk, with the city hosting innumerous engineering and management colleges. Being the 2nd largest software exporter in the country, native to many industrial corporate and proximity of a world class port have made Chennai as the most employable place in South India.
With regard to campus placements, there are lots of processes to be completed by the college before projecting to the corporate world. Few factors which influence the companies to opt for a management school are: -
• Infrastructure of the Management School
• Faculty Talent / Attribute
• Selection Criteria for the Students
• Affiliation and Validity of the Course Offered
• Internal Evaluation Models for students
• Industry Interface in terms of Workshops / Seminars / Industrial Visits / Training Sessions
• Previous Placement Record
• Current and Previous Student Profile
The placement cell should consider the above factors and come out with placement brochures which clearly markets the Management School and projects itself as a potential talent investor for the companies. All the above credentials to be highlighted in the Placement brochures with student profiles.
Potential Corporates needs to be contacted and brochures need to be handed over to the HR Dept / Sourcing Dept. Keep in touch with them to confirm on their participation.
