Dear All,
Got a work to make Skill Matrix and do the GAP for making the competency. Now, I need your's suggestion to go for this. Kindly advice or if u have any case study or any format, kindly share...

Kunal,

When making the skills matrix, you should look at the below steps which will help you in making an effective Skills Matrix

- Identify the Job Responsibilities and if you dont have then write the JDs

- Define KRAs / KPIs

- Competencies (Identify the Skills & Training requirements for each individual)

Based on the above, you may start making the Skills Matrix for each individual

Find below the sample template

skills / Training Required

Name of Individual skill 1 Skill 2 Skill 3 Skill 4 Skill 5 .........................

ABC Give Rating Give rating .................................................. ....................... ( 1to 5)

XYZ Give Rating Give rating .................................................. ....................... ( 1to 5)

with this you will be able to find the gaps of each individual and provide them with the required training

In fact, you can identify the individuals who are stronger on the different competencies and make them as a trainer for the other individuals who need to be trained on those competencies by which you are empowering the individual by giving him additional responsibilities
