14. Daily and weekly hours of work in shops and commercial
establishment.-
(1) Subject to the 29 [other] provisions of this Act, no employee shall be required
or allowed to work in any shop or commercial establishment for more than nine
hours in any day and forty-eight hours in any week.
(2) Any employee may be required or allowed to work in a shop or commercial
establishment for any period in excess of the limit fixed under sub-section (1), if
such period does not exceed [six] hours in any week.
(3) On not more than six days in a year which the [State] Government may fix
by rules made in this behalf, for purposes of making of accounts, stock taking
settlements or other prescribed occasions, any employee may be required or
allowed to work in a shop or commercial establishment in excess of the period
fixed under sub-section (1), if such excess period does not exceed twenty-four
hours.
Need more clarification of Sub section (2).

I think you are referring to earlier Act of 1948. New Act has been passed in 2017 for shops and establishments where this provision is differently worded.

LEAVE WITH PAY AND PAYMENT OF WAGES
18.
(1) Every worker shall be allowed a weekly holiday with wages.
(2) Every worker shall be entitled to eight days casual leave with wages
in every calendar year which shall be credited into the account of the
worker on a quarterly basis, but shall laps if unavailed at the end of the year.
(3) Every worker who has worked for a period of two hundred and forty
days or more in an establishment during a calendar year shall be allowed
during the subsequent calendar year, leave with wages for a number of days
calculated at the rate of one day for every twenty days of work performed by
him during the previous calendar year.
(4) Subject to the provision of clause (3) every worker, who has been
employed for not less than three months in any year, shall for every sixty
days on which he has worked during the year be allowed leave, consecutive
or otherwise, for a period of not more than five days
Unable to understand clause 3 and 4.
Can some one explain how many paid leaves are applicable as per Maharashtra Shops and Establishments act 2017.

worked 240 days in 2017,then 20 days leave in 2018 is worker entitlement.
If wroker had worked for >=90 days,then he ius entitled for 5 days EL.This applies to worker whose job is not fr full year or only short term like during some special seasons etc.
