Hi,

Yes, employees can avail paid leave during the probationary period. However, many companies do not encourage employees to take leave during this time. There is no statutory restriction that prohibits employees from taking leave during probation.

Casual leave is allowed during the probation period as it is to meet emergencies. Casual leave is given in proportion to the service rendered.

Earned leave/Privilege Leave/Annual leave accrues after the probation is cleared.
