Dear Abhilash,
There are whole lot of companies that provide certification courses on TTT. Nevertheless, if you look at the market there is no evidence to prove that the persons who have done certification course from specific institute are able to provide more ROI to their client or company. I have come across with hundreds of HR or Training Managers. No manager ventured into measurement of training effectiveness. Therefore, whatever certification they possess, all are birds of feather.
Once a lady from an MNC bragged for having organised 3,500 training programmes in the last five years. She had done TTT from a training company, which is also MNC. However, she did not measure effectiveness of a single training programme in the last five years! There was no research as to why training efforts succeed or fail.
Many times I have observed that training professionals working in a company are too busy in uploading the details on Learning Management System (LMS). They feel that doing clerical work itself is their achievement.
None of the training company worth of its salt, has done any research and has come up with something unique tool or technique. After being years into business, they should have rolled out case study after case study on how they could provide value to their end customers. But then where is the evidence?
Most of the training companies organise their TTT that is trainer-centric. The focus is more on teaching presentation skills, body language, how to engage audience and so on. By dint of their craftiness, few trainers are master at getting the "Excellent" feedback from each participant. But then beyond than that they do not take any accountability.
I may be sounding bit negative but then this is what market condition is. Therefore, whatever course that you do is fine. The MNC that provides TTT certification course has created their brand image in such a way that some times clients ask trainer to be certified from that MNC. This is a classic case of hollow product but good branding!
Lastly, do you work or did you work in Lodha group?

Dear Mr. Divekar,
Thanks for your inputs, I am currently Managing Hr for a region for KFC , and a believer that learning is growing but the pity here in India is that today your knowledge has to be backed by a piece of paper.
What is your review on ISTD's DIP TD.
I am Glad you replied !

Dear Abhilash,
ISTD's Diploma is about generation behind. Till two years ago, they had not revised their syllabus. I do not know their current position. But then it is government certifying body and their fee is least. Yes, it will add value to your CV.
By the way, if you are Regional HR Manager, and that too of MNC, then why you wish to get into training? Finally what matters is ability to bring positive change because of HR intervention, whether employee training or otherwise.
Therefore, my humble request is to reevaluate your decision. Your next destination supposed to be GM (HR). If you shift to training, then in future will you get total emoluments that are equivalent to this position? As such not all the training managers are paid at par with the HR Managers. Secondly, being in HR, you have more scope to get the jobs. In contrast, training jobs are obviously fewer than HR. I would not have raised this aspect if you had spent your career in training. However, midway change should not take your career express in the reverse direction. Therefore, think and then act.
In the meanwhile, I conduct training programmes in the field of supply chain, business strategy, soft skills etc. How about associating with your company?
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
