hr.chandra
i am a final yr mba student. the problem with me is, i have 3 offers to do my main project.
1. a hr project in a govt co.(big concern) which does not have a hr dept, but they are ready to permit me to do a hr dept (but i cant do performance appraisal project)
2. a small mill with a hr manager & a assistant hr manager gave me permission to do on any hr project topic. here i can chose performance appraisal.
3. a big mnc gave me permission to do hr project on preparing induction manual for employees (but project will be on secondary data, my prof says that doing a project with 2ndary data is useless)
i am in a dilemma. pls help me, which will be good for my career and future placement (my college doesnt have campus interviews and placement cell) which project has good scope. pls help me :?:

Hello
Take the third one on induction manual
Reason
1. In the public sector you are not sure what project you are going to do
2. Doing a performance appraisal in a small mill wont help you More over when you take up your first job, it will be more on recruitment and induction By the time you reach performance mgt it will take ten years
3. Preparing an induction manual with secondary will give you hands on experience of youe first job You will get similar assignments in your first job mostly with secondary data And when you prepare induction manual you are also ready to take up jobs in recruitment

Dear Student,
I also recommend to opt for the third option.
reason-
- The MNC Culture will surely give you an insight of professional HR.
- Now a days, If a HR students who is conceptually strong needn't to worry about placements. Here the third option will give you a new vision which is far different than what a student visualize at the Institute.
- While going through the project, just go for that extra mile to learn ahead of your summer project topics.
Best of luck...
Prof. Prashant
