Dear Seniors
Good Morning,
I am Ashish Singh working with a educational company in vocational training sector since last 3 years on contractual basis.
I was doing very well and my seniors/HO always appreciate me for my performance as I have many appreciation mails in my inbox. Besides of this they have been making a commitment to promote me for last 5 months but still I am waiting for that and my current reporting officer is no supportive and treating with all his subordinates just like an autocrat.
While I had very good personal relation with him few months ago as I was supporting him on every situation.
I was drafting his important official mails and suggested him many times for solving critical problems.
Yet he is so rude with me and also with all of his subordinates.
many employees have resigned due to his rude behavior.
how can we approach to The top level management directly for the problem.
I have made a good reputation among my colleagues/seniors by work and beha

i am feeling sad for the seniors out in the cite for not reporting any solution to the problem...i pity
but the situation is not so critical, because if u have any problem with ur boss u can go to the boss over him with positive approach regarding ur boss rudeness...wish him with smile when he warns u,say ok and sorry for his actions but never loose ur insight within time u will see the change...if not u can have a chat with him directly with proofs that u collect wen u act close to him previously........................................ ...........................smile makes angry despair

according to my view first you discuss with your boss and asked him the feedback on your performance, first you should know whether he is satisfied on your performance or not.If he is satisfied then there should be no problem for appraisal.May be his rudeness is not becoz of your performance and there may be many reasons behind it like he may not satisfied with his current boss, may be he needs some hike, may be he has some family problem. So you first discuss, if not solved then you may go to his immediate teamleader.

Hello Aadimeet,

A lot many problems will be resolved if one can really change his/her nature. I appreciate your views and assertiveness to talk to your boss. But how you present it that matters. I will support the idea of Mr. Jitendra Das, first approach your boss to discuss about your performance. When he will ask you about your own judgement, tell him what upsets and pleases you BUT in a manner that your focus will be on his behaviour or situations and NOT to him as a person. e.g. if you want to tell him that you don't give me full information on any task to be performed; Tell him like 'I would like to have as much as thorough information before taking up any task'.

You have not mentioned his good points whatsoever (there must be something) press on his positive points and express your wish that a proper rapport and understanding between you both will help you raise your performance bar.

Besides, there can not be any ideal solution to your problem. You know your boss, so you are the best judge how to initiate this discussion.

All the best !

Best regards,

Vaishalee Parkhi
