A deputation order was issued to my daughter who is the SBI branch manager. No reason was given. When asked no reply so far. She is still continuing as manager.
Is it right to ask the reason? Is refusal to join is liable for disciplinary action? Pl advice

Dear Mr Balaji DPD,

SBI is a very big organisation. Therefore, it will have its service rules. Please find out what are the rules of transfer on deputation.

When the administration takes a decision to transfer an employee, they are not bound to explain the reasons for their decision. If the due date on which the employee is expected to join at the place of deputation is over, then the employee could be served with a show-cause notice for the defiance of the transfer order. Anyway, belatedly, she can join the place of deputation.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
