Dear Manoj,
Its not necessary to read the book and communicate. simple conversation makes you communicate more stronger. Just feel free and talk your own way... speak speak speak much... so your fear get out from you and your communication will get stronger... HR is an selfmotivator ... don't give up yourself.

HI Smita

It would help if you can give us more details about yourself and your company along with your query.

Since you have posted on this forum, I assume you are an HR professional and are interested in conducting training for your employees.

Training is a remedy or an enabler, an assistance provided to someone to perform better. Each person will have an area in which he /she needs assistance. The supervisors should identify the tasks that each team member needs to accomplish, then make a list of the skills and knowledge required to accomplish the tasks. Then the team members should be assessed on what their current knowledge / skill level is. Training should be conducted to bridge the gap between the Required skill / knowledge level and the possessed existing skill / knowledge level.

The gap can be pertaining to Technical skills or Soft skills. And naturally, each employee's training needs need to be separately analysed and groups of employees with similar training needs can be addressed together.

There are various training programmes available in the market, like medicines in a pharmacy. But you need to get the prescription first. Diagnose what the gap is and then look for trainer or a training programme.

Good luck to you!

Cheers!

Hi Smita,
If you are planning trainings for technical staff, consider following areas:
1) Graduate to professional engineers: Focus on professionalism at workplace.
2) Lateral thinking and innovation: How to think beyond obvious, out of box thinking
3) Technical expert to professioal leader: For people who are transitioning from individual contributor to leadership roles (Example: tech lead, project lead, architect, project manager, development manager, principal engineer)
4) Road to career sucess: Career planning and management.
If you like to discuss any of these further, contact me at
Thanks

Hi Smita,

Apart from normal induction and process training,

We run a Buddy programme in our organisation for new joinee. A concept of buddy programme is enable new joinee be comfortable in new environment and get acclamatised to the work at the same time have some fun.

A buddy (new joinee) would be provided with a mentor. A mentor is someone who is off same age and skill, but who has been with organisation from at least 6 months. He need not be immediate reporting boss but a senior colleague in team. The rule is pretty simple the Mentor is go to guy for buddy for any work related issue. This also give a six month old employee sense of responsibility and trust in organisation. We also find potential TL thru this.

A new thing that we did recently was for a new trainee was made eat lunch with all members of team individually. This help him to jel with the team and vice verse. Once he/she had his lunch with all team members, the TL took a small test about his understanding about his team mates and his comfort level. Since the guy interact with each it help clear communication and better productivity

Both this activities has its pros and cons and might be difficult to implement in different situations, so i suggest you build on this and customise it as per your requirement.

For the next query, many above have shared a good deal of informations. However i suggest you do a proper TNA before deciding.

Hope this was useful

Best regards

Sagar
