Do agree with you Ms. Nair but then one of the most prominent advantage of outsourcing seems to be the fact that it often saves money and many companies in India are now focusing towards outsourcing rather than employing more people.
One another reason of outsourcing might also be that the company's always look towards getting an efficient and effective work done. So, now if they can get the particular work done in a manner in which they actually want from the outsourcing company then why would they hire an employee on whom they have to spend so much on giving him training, wasting, electricity, an area, stationary and other stuffs. So now what do you think is really beneficial for a company?

Thanks for sharing your insight. I do agree that outsourcing getsalong with it avantages and efficient working. But in the long run if we intend to create an organisation with strong foundation; I persoanlly believe that a dedicated in-house team is required.
The relaibility which an in-house department can create would be difficult to derive from an agency which is bound by contracts.
Outsourcing a certain activity of a department can be effective but not a complete function or support division.

Not always. Depends on the industry you are working in,the kind(level in the hierarchy) of employees and the budget and human resources you have for it. In hospitality industry , for people working at the lower level, i.e. Food and Beverage attendant, restaurant shift manager etc. you need not go for outsourcing. But if you have less number of resources and a decent sum of money, its your choice.

Outsourincing is fine in those functions which are of repetitive & transactional in nature, like payroll, handling employee insurance, recruitment, etc & lot of admin works like security, housekeeping, canteen, transport, etc. We cant have permament employees in such activities.
In todays competitive bsuiness landscape, it is better to concentrate on the core strength rather than spreading yourself thinly in all the activities. Outsourcing adds tremendous value & bring in lot of cost & process efficiencies.
For eg. Apple does not even have a factory of its own; but millions of us use its iphones, ipads, etc. which are of very high quality, being manufactured in China by Foxconn.

Thanks for your valuable inputs.
We accept your point Dixon not all the services can be outsourced. But then a question for you.
What do you think how good is outsourcing a legal work to an LPO or a secretarial work to the outsourcing company.
