Hello everybody :icon1:
I am Shinjini. I am currently pursuing my PGDM. I am undergoing summer training, which is related to performance management systems, i.e., the methods used by companies to appraise their employees. I have created a questionnaire and conducted surveys in 7 companies. Now, I am perplexed about how to analyze the data since it is open-ended. I cannot use SPSS as the sample size is small. So, please help me accomplish my project.
Regards,
Shinjini

Hi Shinjini,
Thanks for your posting. You cannot use SPSS even if the sample is large, as you have done a qualitative survey. How many questions do you have? You can conduct a content analysis to identify any similarities in the responses. What is your population?
If you need any more assistance, please drop an email to
providing as many details as possible about where you are taking the course and your familiarity with Research Methods. You could also attempt to access the PowerPoint presentation I shared earlier on Research Methodology in response to another post.

Hi all,
I'm Smitha from Kerala. I'm working on my main project in a newsprint manufacturing firm, and I have selected the topic of HRD audit. Unfortunately, I don't have a good guide to help me with this topic. Let me share the details that I have collected. The company has 1033 employees, and I have chosen 100 for my survey, making the sample size 100. The sampling technique used is stratified sampling, with tools for data collection including observation, interviews with top-level managers of HRM, and a questionnaire for employees.
In the data analysis part, I am considering dividing it into three sections:
1. What I observed in the HRD of the firm.
2. What I gathered about HRD from interviews.
3. What I obtained from the questionnaire.
My questionnaire consists of 37 questions. Should I create charts and tables for all of these, or can I select the most important 20 questions to focus on? Could you please help me with this?
