Hello, everyone. My father was working in N.D.M.C as a regular worker. He passed away in May 2017 while in service - he had been an active contributor since 2014.

For the first two years, the firm didn't even want to listen and said that we have some issues with PF regarding PF balance. They are working on the mass merger for some accounts and fixing balances.

My father still has 2 UAN numbers with the same firm but with different joining dates.

The second issue is PF says the DATE OF EXIT should be the Date of Death, but the employer exited with the last ATTENDANCE around 17 days before death. He was in the hospital during these 17 days; however, the employer cited "DEATH IN SERVICE" as the exit reason.

In 2017, I prepared the offline forms for EDLI, 10D, and FORM 20. It's a government firm, so officers are not always willing to sign, verify documents, and stamp, etc. It was very hard to verify documents in a government firm, but I managed to do it in 2017.

The form I prepared had an old PF account with a balance at that time, but now it has moved to a different UAN PF account. As such, I need to prepare a new form with the new UAN details and once again request the government firm to verify it, which is a very cumbersome process.

In NDMC, the employees handling PF processes don't even know what to do in PF death cases. It has been a struggle to convince them.

After conducting some research, I found that I need to submit the JOINT declaration form duly signed by the employer. I have done that, but now the PF department says I also need to ask the employer to prepare a letter acknowledging mistakes in the date of exit and date of joining, adding to the complexity.

My experience with PF has been very bad; they have made this whole process extremely complex.

I am losing hope that I will receive the death claim benefits soon. I still need to struggle a lot as no one seems willing to help.

If any of you have faced similar issues and were able to get the claim approved, please guide me with the right details.

My mother is a dialysis patient and she is the nominee as well. There was no e-nomination done before my father's death, which is why I am struggling offline.

Thanks for reading. I am the elder son of the deceased.
