In death cases, the qualifying requirements of 10 years service is not required. The dependent spouse can apply for pension even if the deceased member has not completed 10 years of service.

I don't know what is there in Pakistan labour law but in India it is regulated by Employees Provident Fund and Misc Provisions Act, 1952. Under the said Act there are three schemes, Provident Fund Schemes, Pension Schemes and Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Schemes. Of these, para 16 of Pension Schemes says about widow pension which is available to the widow of a member. It is also stated that a contribution to the pension scheme at least for ONE MONTH is required to enable the widow to get this pension.
