Hello,

I am looking for information on the Gujarat Shops and Establishment Act and compliance rules. Additionally, I am interested in a labor law compliance checklist specific to the state of Gujarat. I would appreciate it if you could share relevant details in this forum or send them to my email.

Thanks and best wishes,

Dear Concerns,

Greetings.

I am working in Vadodara, Gujarat, in a KPO & BPO industry in a Pvt. Ltd. firm. I have been with the company for the last 1 year and 3 months. When I joined, the HR team informed me that I am entitled to 7 sick leaves, 7 casual leaves, and once I complete my 1 year on 18th Jan 2017, I can avail the benefit of 21 PLs. Due to my son's illness, I have had to take a couple of leaves in the last 2 months. Despite submitting the medical records of my son, my company is not willing to adjust my leaves as per my entitlement of 21 PLs or sick and casual leaves.

If anyone can suggest or help me, please advise on what I should do in such a case.

Thanks and regards,
S. C

Hello, I am working in a hospital in Gujarat. In the Gujarat Shops & Establishment Act, overtime is calculated as one and a half times the salary. However, in the Minimum Wage Act, overtime is calculated as double the salary. Which act is preferable in this situation?
